3 phase rectifier voltage/Current LEDs, Schottky Diodes & Surge protection
40 Amps Continuous (Mounted to a suitable heat dissipating surface)
120V continuous, 150V Surge.
LEDs on each input phase show current and voltage amplitudes.
Uses 18 low loss Schottky diodes which drastically improves efficiency over standard blocking diodes.
Converts three phase AC to DC
Works with 12, 24 and 48 volt alternators.
We are not aware of any other rectifier on the market that has these features.
The rectifier is capable of running at 40 amps continuous and 60 amps surge at nearly any voltage a wind turbine might produce providing you mount it to an adequate heat dissipation material or allow it to have some air flow. A 24v wind turbine will probably produce around 40 volts with a moderate wind. Each input phase has a voltage and current LED which are illuminated to indicate the presence of voltage and/or current on each phase. The voltage LED will be dimly visible at 3 volts and clearly visible at 10 volts and will continue to brighten up to 100 volts. The current (amps) LED will begin to illuminate at about 1/4 to 1/2 amp and also continue to brighten as the current increases.
The rectifier itself uses 18 Schottky diodes rated at 20 amps each. Theoretically, it could handle much more than 40 amps but cooling must be taken into account and is actually the limiting factor.
3 Phase rectifiers are used with 3 phase alternators such as 3 phase wind turbines or hydro electric alternators. The rectifier converts the 3 phases of A/C (alternating current), to D/C (direct current), that can then be used to charge batteries or run D/C appliances.
